Tlamim – A Therapeutic, Experiential, and Sports-Oriented Center with Animal-Assisted Therapy

For over 30 years, Tlamim has been a growing and evolving therapeutic center, set across 18 expansive dunams (approximately 4.5 acres) of open land, nestled between the kibbutz fields and orchards. The center operates in close partnership with the "Misholim" nonprofit organization and is led by a team of certified, experienced therapists and instructors, supported by a licensed social worker and many devoted volunteers.
The facility is fully accessible, covered, and equipped with all the necessary amenities for extended therapeutic and recreational activities. The site also includes "Medisus", a professional equine veterinary clinic.
After the privatization of Kibbutz Magal, the need arose for further education for work and volunteering for the youth of the Kibbutz. The Tlamim Center integrates and connects the kibbutz to activities on the farm, agricultural work and community contribution.
Equestrian School – Riding, Training, and Horse Care
Tlamim’s stable complex is home to a professional equestrian school that offers horseback riding lessons, horse training, and care services. It provides horse boarding, advanced training, and breeding of purebred Arabian horses, in collaboration with therapeutic riding instructor certification programs.
The school welcomes children, teens, and adults for both private and group sessions, held in both indoor and outdoor riding arenas. Horses are carefully selected to suit each activity:
-
Therapeutic Riding – For clients referred by "Misholim", Israeli health funds, and private individuals, led by certified therapeutic riding instructors.
-
Experiential Activities – Includes recreational riding lessons, trail rides, leadership and personal growth workshops with horses, summer camps, fun days, and hands-on horse care sessions.
-
Sport Riding – Led by instructors with competitive backgrounds. The program includes a competitive riding team, professional clinics, and the hosting of league tournaments and events.
“Derech HaKelev” – Canine Therapy and Training Center
Within the dog training facility operates Derech HaKelev (“The Dog’s Way”), offering dog boarding, obedience training, and Labrador breeding for service dog work. The center also collaborates with Kochav HaKelev for breeding German Shepherds.
The center offers therapy and experiential activities involving dogs, as well as obedience classes for dog owners, educational courses, dog-handling clubs, camps, and special events.
“Ofer” – Wildlife and Educational Animal Center
The animal area of the center is home to a diverse range of animals including sheep, goats, deer, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, tortoises, lemurs, doves, parrots, ducks, peacocks, birds of prey, and snakes. The aviary and parrot habitat includes birds acclimated to human interaction.
Tlamim hosts therapeutic and experiential animal-assisted sessions, educational programs, youth clubs, and camps, all led by trained instructors and therapists. The center collaborates with the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, caring for injured or rescued wildlife until they can be safely returned to nature.
Veterinary clinics and a wide array of enclosures provide a safe, nurturing environment for mares and other animals, ensuring high-level care from a skilled and attentive staff.
